The Tandem Racer

Two particularly fast tourers stand out from the Stellar touring kayak series: the S18R and the Stellar Tandem ST21. Here you can feel the racing genes of the Stellar kayaks with every stroke of the paddle. Both the S18R and the ST21 Tandem are equipped with QR Touring Footbrace.

For the fast tourers from Stellar we choose the Multisport Layup as standard, i.e. with a carbon/Kevlar bottom. In this version the Tandem Racer ST21 weighs just 25 kg.

High strength Spectra Dyneema steering line. No rusting, and low stretch.

Cockpit

Adjustable padded seat, with a water bottle holder. Oval cockpit for easy entry with padded thigh braces and heel pad.

Cut-aways on the decks allows for a narrow catch for a more efficient stroke. Static perimeter line and bungie cross lines for deck rigging.

Wimilar to our S18R, the ST21 has narrow water line beam for low drag and high speeds, but a flare above to provide excellent secondary stability.

Multi-Sport

Single skin laminate hull made of Carbon & Kevlar® fabric, with clear gelcoat finish, and the deck is the standard Advantage construction. The hull is designed to be flexible and durable, but creates a stiff boat that can take some abuse in the class I and II rapids and shallows, but is also at home in the ocean or the flats. The Surf Ski Multi-Sport construction comes standard with an over-stern rudder.

USES: Racing fitness or touring. Flexible hull is ideal for shallow water paddling or small rivers.
